Consulting for SMEs: a thorough assessment with clear results

You sense that things in your company aren’t running as they should – but it’s hard to pinpoint where the biggest lever lies. As management consultants for SMEs, we look at processes and people together.

Sound familiar?

Day-to-day business leaves no room to step back

A process can work on paper and still get stuck at the same point in practice, again and again. That’s exactly what the retreat days are for.

Whiteboard with a process flow: where the lever lies in the organization

You sense that something isn’t working – but the biggest lever remains unclear.

Difficult conversations avoided out of nervousness

Day-to-day operations leave no room for fundamental change.

Presentation in a meeting: workflows that work on paper but not in practice

Processes work on paper but keep getting stuck at the same points in practice.

Discussion about responsibilities and decision-making in leadership

Responsibilities are unclear: nobody makes decisions – or everyone does at once.

Our solution

What SME consulting delivers here

As consultants for SMEs, we don’t look at workflows and the people behind them separately. A well-designed process achieves little if nobody takes ownership of it.

Who is this format for?

  • Owner-managed companies and startups, typically with 10 to 50 employees.
  • Growing companies that have outgrown their old structures.
  • Business owners so involved in day-to-day operations that they lack an outside perspective.
  • Teams that want a thorough assessment before committing to six months of implementation.

Where you’ll stand at the end

What happens during the retreat

Two days, then clear priorities

In a small group, we walk through your core processes step by step – from first contact to final result. At the same time, we clarify who is responsible for what.

1

End-to-end processes

Where a workflow begins, where it ends, and who is involved at each stage. We map the critical chains, not isolated departments.

2

Roles and accountabilities

Who is actually responsible for what, who should be making decisions – and where nobody currently does. Even the clearest role won’t help if the process behind it doesn’t work.

3

Identifying levers

You won’t end up with a long list of observations. Two things matter: what your workflows reveal – and what’s costing you the most in everyday business right now.

4

A prioritized picture

You leave with a clear ranking of the levers. What you do with it is up to you. If you decide to move forward, our Implementation Support picks up right where the diagnostic leaves off.

I have the uttermost respect and admiration for you, as a professional and as a person. You´re a very illuminated person. I really appreciate what you could teach me on how to managed stress and be more calm during meetings. And thank you again for the message and consideration. Just by doing this, you set a new standard of honesty and admiration that I´ll cherish forever as a professional.

I enjoyed a lot working with you and could see an incredible progress during your stay.
Just today we had a SOPs related discussion and I need to go back to a Wave C file you put together regarding priorization that was – I remember – incredibly useful.

Wishing you really all the best for your future.
Any company hiring you will find a treasure. 😊

My experience working with Caroline Läufer

Working with Caroline Läufer was incredibly rewarding for my team and me. She took a noticeable load off my shoulders as a manager by handling the administrative work, and her outside analysis gave us valuable, objective feedback.

Caroline quickly built trust, and her appreciative communication style created a positive working atmosphere. In one-on-one conversations, she helped my team members recognize their strengths and talents, understand specific needs and improve how we work together as a team.

Thanks to her structured analysis and recommendations, the team gained a clear view of its own strengths and benefited from strategies for strength-based task allocation. Her work significantly improved collaboration and motivation and was instrumental in our continued development.
